We love asian style food, I mean, we really love asian style food. Over the years we’ve spent cooking together, we’ve managed to find a stir-fry recipe we both love. And stir-fry is the name of the game this week…
- 4 tbsp. oil (sunflower or sesame)
- 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
- 6 tbsp. soy sauce
- 6 tbsp. honey
- 1 pkg udon noodles (can substitute spaghetti, linguine, etc)
- Assorted vegetables (carrots, onions, Forager Farm pak choi and tatsoi, zucchini, etc.)
Heat 2 tbsp. of the oil and all the crushed red pepper in a small skillet or saucepan on medium high for 2 minutes (more than 2 mins will make it spicier). Add the soy sauce and honey. Set aside.
Boil the package of noodles, drain, and put in a large bowl. While you’re waiting for the noodles to cook, heat the remaining 2 tbsp. of oil in a large skillet and sauté or fry up your choice of veggies. Lightly wash the tatsoi and pak choi and separate the leaves. Add them to your mixed veggies last as it’s easy to over cook them.
Add the veggies to the noodles and pour the sauce over top, toss together and enjoy!
Love the recipe idea! Just wondering what size package of noodles you would use here….
Thanks! Looking forward to our first delivery!!
That’s a great question, Phyllis! We ordered organic udon noodles though amazon last time and those packages were 9.5 oz. But if you’re doing spaghetti or any substitute, a typical size box/package will work just fine. There ends up being extra sauce at the bottom of the bowl, so there’s room for error. We like a lot of sauce though 🙂

Thank you for including recipes for the fresh produce that we will be receiving. This recipe looks great, Hannah! Look forward to meeting you at our pickup in Jamestown today.
You’re welcome, Tara! It was great meeting you today!
I’m making this tomorrow! Thanks!
How’d it turn out, Paula?!
Excellent! I may have used too many noodles for the amount of sauce (I made half a recipe) but otherwise very tasty and easy too. Quick to make after work and great way to use lots of veggies! Thanks!
Made the stir fry last night! Quick, easy, and we had everything on hand! Delicious! Thank you for sharing, we are looking forward to trying more new veggies!
Thank you and Jonathan for the great stir-fry recipe! I always forget about stir-fry. I made it last night, on the grill. The honey, sesame, and spice sauce was awesome! (yum.yum.yum.) The pak choi and tatsoi lived up to a very nice “spinach-like” flavor and texture. The zucchini stayed slightly crisp! I hadn’t tried the Udon noodles before, they are fun. I look forward to more recipes this summer. Step aside “Mongolian Grill”, I now have a new favorite stir-fry; and it’s much much healthier too (no msg)!
Thanks again, Shannon
ps Volunteering at Forager Farm has helped me so much with my other garden projects. You manage to make it fun and interesting. I learn something new about gardening, homesteading, and permaculture each time. Plus there are bouncing baby goats that entertain on water breaks. 🙂
